Christ “Chris” N. Coumanis founded the firm of Coumanis & York, P.C. in 2009 with David York, the former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Alabama. Born in Mobile, Alabama, Mr. Coumanis has practiced in the Mobile-Baldwin County area since beginning his legal career. A magna cum laude graduate of Springhill College, Mr. Coumanis earned his law degree from Tulane Law School in 1988. Upon completing law school, he served five years as an Assistant District Attorney in Mobile County where he prosecuted more than 75 jury trials, ranging from violent crimes to complex white collar crimes. In 1994, Coumanis entered private practice with a respected statewide general litigation firm in Mobile and became a member of that firm in 2000 before co-founding Coumanis & York.
